What is PolimiRun Winter?

PolimiRun Winter is the urban trail run of Politecnico di Milano. It is a 10 km run on a mixed route, road and dirt, through the Lecco Mountains, with a climb (D+) of 388 mt. PolimiRun Winter is open to everyone; it is mandatory to have a valid Green Pass in order to participate in PolimiRun.

How and within which date can I register for PolimiRun Winter?

You can register for PolimiRun Winter through the Web site www.polimirun.it. You can choose whether to participate in non-competitive or competitive PolimiRun Winter. The registrations will be open up to 4 November 2021. The bib numbers available for competitive run are 100.

What are the differences between the COMPETITIVE and NON-COMPETITIVE PolimiRun Winter?

The registration to the competitive race is allowed only to people fullfilling the requirements written in the rulebook of the competitive race. The group registered for the competitive PolimiRun Winter will start first. The route, the T-shirt and the services will be the same for everyone.

Is the Green Pass mandatory?

Yes, the Green Pass is mandatory to access the PolimiRun Winter 2021 Village where the race kits will be distributed in the days before the race; it will also be mandatory in order to participate in PolimiRun Winter 2021.

Health first: how should I behave on the day of the PolimiRun?

  • If you have typical symptoms of Covid-19 or you have been in contact with a person who tested positive in the days before the PolimiRun or you are subjected to quarantine measures or fiduciary isolation, do not show up on the day of the PolimiRun.
  • We recommend that you follow the instructions that we will send you via email regarding the time and place of meeting at the starting Village.

  • We ask you to follow the instructions that will be given to you on site by the staff, to facilitate the entry and exit operations from the Village, the entry to the starting grids and the use of the services.

  • Remember to wear the mask whenever you are inside the PolimiRun Village; you must absolutely wear it up to 500 meters after the start, and wear it again as soon as you cross the finish line.

  • Keep your distance from other PolimiRunners and help us avoid crowds.

  • The mid-way refreshment and the final refreshment will include the distribution of sealed products only; we ask you to throw the packages in the appropriate bins to allow us to do the best possible separate collection.

All PolimiRunners will be required to comply with the provisions in force on the day of the race.

I did not receive the confirmation email with my bib number. What can I do?

The email with the bib number is necessary for the withdrawal of the same. If you have not received the confirmation email after your registration to the non-competitive PolimiRun Winter, try checking the SPAM and if you cannot find it there, write to polimirun@polimi.it and attach your payment receipt. If you are registered to the competitive PolimiRun Winter you will receive an email with your bib number the week before the race. If you don’t receive it, write to iscrizioni@otc-srl.it.


What does the participation fee include?

Official race T-shirt, bib number with disposable chip, half-way and final refreshment, timekeeping service, changing rooms, bag storage set up in the PolimiRun Winter Village at Lecco Campus, race bag with products of the sponsors, RCT insurance, technical and medical assistance.

Is the participation allowed to minors?

Registration for children aged 14 to 17 on the day of the race must be made by a parent or legal guardian. Children under 14 years cannot be registered but they can participate with a parent; they will not have their bib number and T-shirt. Minors under 18 cannot register and partecipate to competitive PolimiRun Winter.

Is it possible to participate in the PolimiRun Winter by walking?

Everyone can keep the pace that they prefer, by taking into account that after 1 hour and 40 minutes the organization will no longer guarantee the safety on the route.

Where and when can I collect the bib number and T-shirt?

You can pick up your official race jersey, race bib, and race kit in the following places and times

  • Milano Campus Leonardo, Via Pascal, front of C.S. Giuriati – Friday 5 November from 11:00 to 19:00
  • Lecco Campus – Saturday 6 November from 10:00 to 17:00

At the registration you will receive an email with your bib number, show it at the moment of the collection of your race bib. Together with the race bib, you will receive the T-shirt and the official race pack. Just before the event, you will receive an email with dates, times and all the necessary information.
The email for the competitors will arrive in the week of the race.


It is not possible to pick up the race bib on the day of the race unless people who come from outside the Lombardy region, only they can pick up the race bib on Sunday, November 7 from 8:00 to 9:15 at Campus Lecco. To pick up the race bib you must show the email with your bib number and an identity document.

Can I collect the bib number of another person?

Yes. You must have the email received by your friend with his bib number and a digital copy (photo) of his identity document.

How does the bag storage work?

We have set up a bag deposit service; the procedures are:

  • Together with the race bib you will receive a sticker with the corresponding number. Apply the adhesive to the bag you pick up with the bip number and transfer what you want to find on arrival.
  • Give the bag at the stand of the bag deposit at the Campus Lecco on November 6 from 10:00 to 17:00 and/or November 7 from 8:00 to 9:15.
  • At the end of the race take back your bag at the stand in the Village at Lecco Campus showing your race bib to our staff.

It will not be possible to deposit bags with a different volume respect the bags provided by the organization.

Where is the start? Where is the finish line?

The route will be on a single circular tour that will start and finish at Lecco Campus. Here, you will find the PolimiRun Winter Village, where you can find all the services (refreshment, toilets, changing rooms). The start will be at 10:00 am from Lecco Campus – Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco.

How do I get to the PolimiRun Winter Village?

Here are the easiest ways to reach the PolimiRun Winter Village at the Lecco Campus (Via Ghislanzoni 22, Lecco):

  • by car from Milan: (50 km) SS36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga, a fast road (superstrada) connects Milan with Lecco within 1 hour;
  • by train from Milan: Central station and Porta Garibaldi train line Milan – Sondrio – Tirano. Travel time: 40 minutes for the express train and 1 hour for the local one.

Who starts first and what will be the departure positioning?

The group of competitive runners starts first, precisely at 10:00. After them will leave the group of non-competitive runners. Access to the start areas is allowed until 9:45 am.

Can I change at the start/finish line?

Yes, here will be gazebos used as changing rooms. Showers will not be available.

Will the race course be closed to traffic?

The race course is closed to traffic until the last athlete passes. It is 10 km long, recognized FIDAL. The departure and arrival are at the Campus Lecco (via Ghislanzoni 22). The path will cross the city of Lecco with lenghts of the path in a hilly area.

Where can I find the race ranking?

After the race, at the PolimiRun Winter 2021 Web site you can find the link to view your time.
The not competitive race is a playful motor activity, so there is not a ranking. Each participant can see their time in an alphabetical list visible at all on PolimiRun Winter 2021 website.


How can I watch my photos after the race?

You will be able to immediately look at the photos we took of you on the PolimiRun Winter website where you will find a special widget; enter your bib number there and share immediately on your Facebook profile all the photos where you are a protagonist! The recognition is possible thanks to the QR code that you find printed on your bib, try to keep it always in sight so that the software can “scan” it easily.
