PolimiRun Winter is the first trail run of Politecnico di Milano. It is a 10 km run on a mixed route, road and dirt, through the Lecco Mountains, with a climb (D+) of 410 mt and a maximum slope of 36%. PolimiRun Winter is open to everyone.
What is PolimiRun Winter?
How and within which date can I register for PolimiRun Winter?
You can register for PolimiRun Winter through the Web site www.polimirun.it. You can choose whether to participate in non-competitive or competitive PolimiRun Winter. The registrations will be open up to 5 November 2018 or if the number of 1.000 members is reached. The bib numbers available for competitive run are 100.
What are the differences between the COMPETITIVE and NON-COMPETITIVE PolimiRun Winter?
The registration to the competitive race is allowed only to members of a FIDAL company or Runcard holders with a medical certificate for competitive sports specific for light athletics. The member card and the certificate must be valid at the date of the race. The group registered for the competitive PolimiRun Winter will start first. The route, the T-shirt and the services will be the same for everyone.
I did not receive the confirmation email with my bib number. What can I do?
If you have not received the confirmation email after your registration to the non-competitive PolimiRun Winter, try checking the SPAM and if you cannot find it there, write to firstname.lastname@example.org and attach your payment receipt. If you are registered to the competitive PolimiRun Winter you will receive an email with your bib number the week before the race.
What does the participation fee include?
Official adidas T-shirt, bib number with disposable chip, half-way and final refreshment, timekeeping service, changing rooms, bag storage set up in the PolimiRun Winter Village at Lecco Campus, means of transport for athletes that dropped out of the race, race bag with products of the sponsors, RCT insurance, technical and medical assistance.
Is the participation allowed to young people?
Registration for children aged 14 to 17 on the day of the race must be made by a parent or legal guardian. Children under 14 years cannot be registered but they can participate with a parent; they will not have their bib number and T-shirt.
Is it possible to participate in the PolimiRun Winter by walking?
Everyone can keep the pace that they prefer, by taking into account that after 1 hour and 40 minutes the organization will no longer guarantee the safety on the route. In any case, if you are tired you can use the shuttle service that will transport to the arrival area the athletes that will drop out the race.
How does the bag storage work?
Together with the race bib you will receive a sticker with the corresponding number. Apply the adhesive to your bag and give it to the bag storage set up at the PolimiRun Winter Village at Lecco Campus on the morning of the race or on the previous day (Saturday 10 November). At the end of the race take back your bag at the stand in the PolimiRun Winter Village at Lecco Campus, showing your race bib to our staff.
Where and when can I collect the bib number and T-shirt?
At the Lecco Campus on Saturday 10 November from 10:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 11 November from 7:30 to 9:15. At the registration you will receive an email with your bib number, print it and show it at the moment of the collection of your race bib. Together with the race bib, you will receive the T-shirt and the official race pack. Just before the event, you will receive an email with dates, times and all the necessary information.
Can I collect the bib number of another person?
Yes. You must have the printed email received by your friend with his bib number and a paper copy of his identity document.
Where is the start? Where is the finish line?
The route will be on a single circular tour that will start and finish at Lecco Campus. Here, you will find the PolimiRun Winter Village, where you can find all the services (refreshment, toilets, changing rooms) and our sponsor corners. The start will be at 10:00 am from Lecco Campus – Via Gaetano Previati 1/c, Lecco.
How do I get to the PolimiRun Winter Village?
Here are the easiest ways to reach the PolimiRun Winter Village at the Lecco Campus (Via Gaetano Previati 1/c, Lecco):
by car from Milan: (50 km) SS36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga, a fast road (superstrada) connects Milan with Lecco within 1 hour. The day of the race, you can park your car in the free parking of the Meridiana shopping centre (Largo Caleotto, 10, Lecco); you should show your race bib or your race registration at the entrance of the parking.
by train from Milan: Central station and Porta Garibaldi train line Milan – Sondrio – Tirano. Travel time: 40 minutes for the express train and 1 hour for the local one.
Can I change at the start/finish line?
Yes, here will be gazebos used as changing rooms. Showers will not be available.
